Each October, WWFC holds Halloween Heroes, the ultimate trick or treat party. We create an indoor Halloween wonderland for kids of all ages. The event is a ghoulishly good time for all involved. At Halloween Heroes, we choose several athletes to be our Honorary Chairpersons. Then, we invite over 30 professional Bay Area athletes & media personalities to join the event as our Celebrity Heroes. With food and beverages donated by top Bay Area restaurants, a fabulous silent auction, trick or treat booths, arts & crafts including mini pumpkin decorating, face painting, Exploratorium led hands on science and art activities, and more, as well as Bay Area team mascots and Halloween costumed characters roaming our party, there is something for everyone.

Each year, we pick a charity or two to serve as our beneficiaries, and we donate a portion of the net proceeds to the chosen non-profit(s). This year, we are thrilled to be raising funds and awareness for the Junior Giants Baseball Program and the Exploratorium's Children's Educational Outreach Program. The fundraising success of Halloween Heroes is due to the partnerships among our Sponsor Heroes, Celebrity Heroes, In Kind Heroes, volunteers, community leaders and more. Together, we are able to make a true difference in the lives of abused & neglected children in the Bay Area.

JUNIOR GIANTS BASEBALL
Junior Giants Baseball, the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, is a free and non-competitive youth baseball program for over 13,000 youth in Northern California, Nevada, and Oregon. The program provides self-esteem and values training, along with baseball equipment, uniforms, and instructional service, to boys and girls 5-18 years old in underserved communities. Over the years, the Junior Giants baseball program has grown to more than 70 communities across three states, featuring 13,000 participants on over 750 teams.

EXPLORATORIUM CHILDREN’S EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM
The Children’s Educational Outreach program takes the Exploratorium experience outside the walls of the museum and into the community. Making science and math exciting and accessible to underserved youth in a fun, encouraging, and informal atmosphere is the priority. Outreach delivers these invaluable services to more than 5,000 K-12 students and their families annually, strengthening and extending the work of existing in-school, after-school, and community service programs in low-income neighborhoods.

WWFC is offering Exploratorium members discounted ticketing to attend Halloween Heroes. Adults will receive $20 off of their ticket price while children will receive a $10 discount.  Please click the "buy tix" link and look for the ticket option for Exploratorium members, or send us an e-mail at info@wenderweis.org.

WWFC has held Halloween Heroes every year since 1996, with the exception of 2000.
